Farmer’s Brownies

I made these on Sunday for a HUGE family gathering and they were a total hit. So, I guess I’ll share….. 🙂

Farmer’s Brownies
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. hot water
3/4 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Melt the butter with the water and cocoa, then add the flour, salt, soda, and sugar. Beat in the eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into a greased 10×15 baking pan. Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes.

Frosting:
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
3 cups powdered sugar
1 T. Karo Syrup

Mix altogether and frost the cake while it is still warm. It will be thin, just spread it over the cake and it will soak in making the brownies SUPER moist and SUPER YUMMO!!
