How to NEVER have your cake stick to the pan again:
Coat your cake pan with shortening, then flour it lightly, then trace the bottom of your pan onto a piece of parchment or wax paper and cut it out and place it in the bottom of your pan. Then spray it with cooking spray and pour your cake batter in the pan and bake. After baking, let your cake cool for about 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edges and then invert onto a plate or cake board and when ready to frost, easily pull the parchment or wax paper from the bottom of the bake revealing a perfectly smooth surface! Not to mention no mess in the pan! YES!
