So you’ve heard the hype. I have too. I have even had several friends tell me how amazing they are! “Its a miracle!” Uh-huh. Got it. So I did a little research (no, not all online….:) and found out a few things….
#1. Most bottles of Raspberry Ketones ALSO INCLUDES some or all of these: green coffee bean extract, caffeine, ginko biloba, (all three of those are stimulants) among a few others and more importantly some or all of these instructions:
“Only drink water. Do not snack between meals and after dinner. Regular exercise will help stimulate your cells to absorb this substance. Take one capsule 30-60 minutes before a large meal with a full glass of water.”
#2. The study that boasted RK (hereafter the abbreviation I will use for raspberry ketones) would “melt fat” or change your cell activity to not accept fatty tissue was from Japan, and was exclusivily tested on rats in LARGE quantities- up to 2% of their weight. For most of us, thats about 2.5-3.5 lbs of substance. And guess what—- there was NO OTHER INGREDIENT IN THE TEST! HA!
#3. In health stores where the “experts” usually work- you can find bottles of JUST RK, however, those bottles say nothing except that it is “…a concentrated source of raspberry ketones…” and don’t exclaim any weight loss or metabolism or cellular expectations.
If you simply follow the directions on the bottle as listed above in #1, and take 2 glasses of water before meals (instead of 1 and the capsule) and not ever even take the supplements, I can almost guarantee you will lose 2-3 lbs this week. 🙂
