I always get asked, “How do you fit it in?”
Well folks, when you want to change, you have to change something in your life. So I “made time” for a couple years. I would watch the clock like a hawk, memorize how long my workout dvd’s were, and then run like mad to change clothes and get it done when my baby went down for his nap. It worked. But guess what? It was stressful. Sometimes my baby wouldn’t nap at the “right time” and it didn’t happen. But I had the commitment there- I WANTED to do it! So I got SOOO frustrated. Sometimes to the point that it would affect my entire day! (Anyone relate?)
So—- I started reading this book……. Slight Edge. And it talks about the difference between successful people (in all areas, not just financial, you know, those people that just seem to be able to accomplish whatever they set their mind to, and it “works?”) and people that constantly seem to fail. I am learning its the SMALL things that matter. Successful people get up early, and they do those things that are too easy NOT to do for the average Joe. And the book, along with other SUCCESS reads you’ve seen— getting up early, is constantly noted as a habit of highly successful people. SO—- I decided to commit to it. To do that small thing that “regular” people won’t do. And as I’ve found out, getting up just an hour earlier has been AMAZING. Getting my workout in before sunrise, honestly makes it feel like I didn’t have to worry about it. Almost like it doesn’t even affect my day. And you know what? I AM more productive in my days. I AM seeing results in other areas of my life, just by adding that extra 1.5 hours to my day. It’s incredible really. My paychecks have doubled (I work for myself, so I’ve essentially worked MORE, but it feels the same, WHAT?!?!), I’ve been able to take more time for Spiritual pondering and study, and I’ve been more effective with mothering, being an awesome wife (:) ) and I feel happier. I don’t know how that last one is happening, but I do! I DO feel happier. So what is that ONE thing that you KNOW deep down that you should be doing? That one THING that you KNOW you don’t want to do, but that it would make a difference in your life? And I encourage you do commit to doing it for 21 days. Make a little chart, with 21 boxes, and just DO IT for 21 days. Don’t add anything else. Just ONE thing. I want to hear about it when you’re done too! So what are my workouts this week you say?

Day 2: Core or Hardcore On The Floor
Day 3: Buns
Day 4: Sculpt
Day 5: Rest Day
Day 6: Drench
Day 7: Sweat
Is it hard to get up at 5:30am every day? YES.
Is it great to not have to fit it in during my day with my kids and family and other life obligations? YES!!!
Do I need equipment for this workout? NO!
Any jumps or joint straining moves? NO!
Am I seeing results? YES!
