I LOVE a quick dinner. Those ones that I KNOW I only have to plan 15 minutes for!
This one isn’t the HEALTHIEST….. BUT its a good one! 🙂
Smoked Sausage Skillet.
Has the taste of cheesy goodness, and spice and smoked sensations in each bite. I often am reminded of dutch oven cooking when I make this meal. Mmmmmm……..
So lets get to it.
1 16 oz bag of hash browns, with peppers and onions ($2.50)
1/3 cup oil (.12)
12-16 oz smoked sausage- your favorite kind (fully cooked) ($3-4)
1 cup grated cheese (your fav kind!) ($1)
3 eggs (.38)
And to make it a complete meal, add a fresh veggie and a fresh fruit!
Water to drink and 15 minutes later, you are ready to EAT!
Step 1: Heat the oil in a 12-14 in skillet. Add the entire bag of hash browns. Spread evenly in the pan and then cover and let cook on high for about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Step 2. While the potatoes are cooking, slice up your sausage, and grate your cheese.
Step 3. After the potatoes are about 10 minutes in, scoot them over and add your sausage. Cover with a lid and cooke for 2-3 minutes. This is when you get your fruit and veggie out and arranged. 🙂
Step 4. Add the eggs and a little S&P. And cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 5. Thoroughly mix everything and then turn off the heat, sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top, and cover with the lid while assembling the family for dinner!
Step 6. A wonderful meal for all to enjoy. 🙂
